HRC factory rider, Ferruccio Zanchi has won a very muddy opening MX2 moto in Cozar, Spain this afternoon. The Italian took the lead early and never gave anyone a chance to catch him. Nestaan Husqvarna rider Liam Everts rode a smooth and solid second place, to gain some points on series leader and team-mate, Kay de Wolf, who finish in third place.

It has been a while since a Honda has won in MX2, from memory, Calvin Vlaanderen, in 2018 in Pangkal Pinang in Indonesia with a 3-1 score.

Ferruccio Zanchi: For sure conditions were not easy, but I took the holeshot and I was thinking, thinking, thinking, but I did my laps and I want to thank everyone.
