Kawasaki factory rider, Romain Febvre has won his 22nd Grand Prix to join the likes of Dave Thorpe, Alex Puzar, Sten Lundin and Rolf Tibblin in the all-time list of GP winners. The Frenchman went 4-1 for the win and it was his first GP win in nearly two years. Second overall was Glenn Coldenhoff with 2-3 and third Tim Gajser with 5-2.

World championship points are now 1. Tim Gajser 215 points, Romain Febvre 181pts, Glenn Coldenhoff 156pts, Lucas Coenen 141pts, Maxime Renaux 125pts.

Romain Febvre: We had an emotional weekend, same as last year. We didn't finish in the points yesterday. First moto I got the start, I didn't look good, but the second moto I got the start and I was like, okay, now you have to take your time. Gifting was leading and I knew Tim was behind, but I felt so good and was riding like in training. So good to get this one. To battle for the win is nice and its nice to win.

Glenn Coldenhoff: It looks good. Yesterday I struggled a bit, but we made some changes to the bike and the first moto Bona was behind me and the second moto I didn't have the intensity, but second podium for Fantic, looks promising

Tim Gajser: Another solid weekend. Yesterday I felt good, but today the track was different, a lot of water today and I didn't feel comfortable and settled for fifth place, but we made some changes for the second race and we pushed with Romain and I tried to win it, but Romain was pushing. I am really looking forward to next week.

MXGP Moto Two

Coenen down in the first corner and also Bonacorsi, but Seewer takes the holeshot from Herlings and Herlings into the lead, this is just sensational, and so typically Herlings. Gifting in third as he was blocked by Seewer for the pass, then came Febvre, Horgmo, Coldenhoff, Gajser, Fernandez, Vlaanderen and Geerts. Coenen already in 20th place and flying.

Herlings with a 2.7 second lead with Gifting second, then Febvre, Gajser, Horgmo, Seewer, Coldenhoff, Vlaanderen, Fernandez and Geerts, with Coenen now in 17th. Herlings with a 3.8 second lead on lap two. Coenen up to 15th place.

Herlings the quickest lap of the day with a 1.46.741 time and Coenen now 13th and doing his own version of Herlings. When these two race together, its going to be sizzling. Coenen breezed past Bogers and into 12th on lap four. Gifting catching Herlings, who’s conditions won’t be great.

Herlings getting caught by Gifting, Febvre and Gajser, with Coenen up to 11th place and 23 seconds off the pace of the leader. Gifting looking very aggressive and wanting to pass Herlings in the sand and tell his grandchildren about it. Gifting into the lead as Herlings clearly slowing up and probably done.

Febvre and Gajser both looking to pass Herlings, who is really having trouble now. Herlings fighting for his spot, and Coenen into 10th place. Herlings seems to be slowing Febvre up although they did get away from Gajser. Who would have ever said Herlings was a road block, but he let both Febvre and Gajser pass.

Gifting leading the best riders in the World, similar to what he did in Sweden in the past. On lap six it was Gifting, Febvre, Gajser, Herlings, Horgmo, Coldenhoff, Vlaanderen, Bonacorsi, Seewer and sensationally, Coenen now in ninth place.

Febvre all over Gifting for the lead and Gajser also chasing hard to get to the Frenchman. Coenen all over Seewer for 8th place and moved past the Ducati rider. Coenen a big mistake as he clipped the back wheel of Seewer in the air and he is dropping back in the field. He looks a little hurt and well back in the field now. Febvre into the lead and a GP win waiting for him.

Coldenhoff into fourth as he passed Herlings and on lap seven it was Febvre, Gajser, Gifting, Coldenhoff, Vlaanderen, Herlings, Bonacorsi, Seewer, Horgmo, and Geerts 10th. Coenen crashed again and might be out of the race.

On lap nine it was Febvre, Gajser, Gifting, Coldenhoff, Vlaanderen, Herlings, Bonacorsi, Seewer, Horgmo and Geerts 10th. Coenen out of the race as he headed back to the mechanics area. Febvre with 2.1 seconds over Gajser, then Gifting a further nine seconds back and Coldenhoff fifth. Coldenhoff into third place.

Gajser starting to warm up and catching Febvre, and Vlaanderen moved past Gifting for fourth position. Lap 12 and the gap is 1.4 seconds as Gajser trying to get to the front and Coldenhoff 17 seconds back in third, but a good shot at winning the GP if Gajser passes Febvre. Herlings hanging in there in seventh place, a great result for his first weekend back.

Febvre wins the moto and the GP with Gajser second in the moto and third in the GP and Coldenhoff third and second overall for the day.
