Vertex Pistons - Champions Choice
After a fantastic year full of successes, Vertex Pistons is presenting itself at EICMA 2024 with its product line for off-road motorcycles, developed together with the Factory riders of the most prestigious motocross, enduro and supermoto teams, updated for the 2025 motorcycle versions.
During the 2024 season, Vertex Pistons have played a prominent role in all off-road disciplines. Among the most prestigious successes obtained in motocross, the title of MXGP runner-up of the Slovenian Tim Gajser of Honda HRC and the title of WMX runner-up of the Spanish Daniela Guillén stand out, as well as the first three places in EMX125 achieved respectively by Noel Zanocz, Gyan Doensen and Simone Mancini. In addition, Gajser took the MXGP victory of the Motocross of Nations, ahead of other Vertex riders, such as Maxime Renaux and Rubén Fernández, and the second place in MX2 obtained by the Latvian rider Karlis Reisulis of Yamaha Monster Energy.
Vertex also experienced great satisfaction in enduro, where its pistons won five world titles: the E3 for Beta Factory's Brad Freeman and those of Max Bror and Elvis Ahlin (EJ and EJ2), Kevin Cristino (EJ1) and Manuel Verzeroli (EY), in addition to the runners-up of Hamish Macdonald (E3), Steve Holcomb (EGP and E1), Samuele Bernardini (E2), Axel Semb (EJ), Manolo Morettini (E1), Axel Semb (EJ2) and Pietro Scardina (EY).
In Supermoto, Vertex shone again with the German Marc Reiner Schmidt, the undisputed protagonist in the TM Factory of the L30 team, with which he secured the title in the S1 category.
VERTEX 2-STROKE AND 4-STROKE PISTONS UPGRADES
The renowned line of Vertex 2-stroke and 4-stroke pistons, dedicated to motocross, enduro and supermoto and available for most off-road motorcycles, has had an update in its range, with main applications dedicated to the 2025 versions. Starting with the high-performance line for 4-stroke engines, which includes the Replica, High Compression, Big Bore and GP Racers Choice versions, the latter similar to the one mounted on the engine of Tim Gajser's Honda HRC. This piston is characterized by the hot forging of a high-strength aircraft alloy, an exclusive shape with an internal reinforcement inspired by Formula 1, a racing profile and a specially designed head that allows the maximum compression ratio to be achieved to improve not only power, but also torque at low revs without compromising engine reliability.
The piston is coated with molybdenum disulfide to ensure smoothness and wear resistance, and features a DLC-coated pin, anti-rotation retaining rings, and rings with a special PVD treatment.
Four models are available for the Vertex Pistons 2-stroke range of pistons: Replica, Race, Race Evolution (aimed at those looking for maximum performance and reliability) and the Pro-Race, recently updated with forged pistons. All these models have a molybdenum disulfide coating that improves smoothness and adaptation to the cylinder, ensuring the best engine performance.
VERTEX TOP-END KIT FOR 2 AND 4-STROKE OFF-ROAD
Top-End Piston Kits are an exclusive product that Vertex has created to help owners of 2-stroke and 4-stroke off-road motorcycles who need to perform maintenance or repair of the thermal part of the engine. At a particularly competitive price, the package includes everything needed to renew the engine: piston, pin, retaining rings, rings, emery joint and cage bearing for 2-stroke engines, while the kits for 4-stroke engines also include a free timing chain.
SPROCKETS AND SPROCKETS VERTEX PISTONS
After debuting on the market just a few years ago, Vertex sprockets and sprockets quickly captured the attention of teams, riders and fans for their absolute reliability, guaranteed by precise manufacturing 'made in Europe' on advanced numerical control machines.
The front sprockets are made of special 16CrNi4 steel and are available in the basic K version and in the KC version, with lightening holes. The rear sprockets are offered in three models and in various colours: the Alu alloy 7075 with T6 heat treatment and mud drains on the outer side, the steel C45 steel anodised in black, and the fully anodised Duo, recognisable by its exterior in special 16CrNi4 steel with induction-hardened teeth and its inner part in alloy 7075 with T6 heat treatment.
VINTAGE OFF-ROAD COLLECTION
In addition to the products dedicated to 2 and 4-stroke off-road vehicles, Vertex Pistons has also developed a Vintage line for motorcycles manufactured up to the year 2000. This is a series of products that includes not only pistons specific to vintage motocross and enduro motorcycles, but also those of Hot Rods, Engine Rebuild Kit and All Balls, allowing mechanics and enthusiasts to have everything they need for a complete renovation of the engine and chassis, at a particularly advantageous price. Among the many models available, those from Fantic, Gori, Kramer, Puch, Rotax, Sachs and SWM stand out.
