Eli Tomac has won the San Diego main event from Jett Lawrence and Cooper Webb. It was the 11th season Tomac has won a main event and it was his 53rd main event win, he also took the red plate into A2 next weekend.. Tomac also won for the third time in San Diego, joining James Stewart and Ricky Johnson as three time winners in San Diego. Congratulated by Jett Lawrence, it was all smiles for the American legend.

Julien Beaumer won the 250 main from Jordon Smith and Haiden Deegan. Jo Shimoda, who was riding with two broken fingers finished a brave seventh.

Eli Tomac: It is high on the list this win. Its been a long time since I won a main event and I had to work for it. Made a lot of passes and keep it on two wheels, but this feels so good. Thanks to everyone who helped me get here.

Jett Lawrence: That was awesome guys, he got me at the start and I tried to get close, but he was ripping. He rode unreal and I am just happy that I am better than last week and we will keep getting better and better. We tested hard this week to get the bike better and it was much better. I still think we have some improvement to go and I need to get some consistent laps under my belt, but we will go do some more testing.

Cooper Webb: It was just a good race. I led some laps, had a good start, but those two guys were coming and were too fast. I feel sick and I had a good battle with Kenny and we need to do more next time. We need to do some work to latch onto these two boys.

Chase Sexton: I rolled the triple and next turn I fell over. It lit a fire in me and I rode really well, I feel my riding is really good and we didn't want this, we wanted another win or at least a podium.

450 Main Event

It was Vriese who led Webb in the main event from Hunter Lawrence, then Sexton down in a crash and last. Roczen was third, then Stewart, Tomac, Jett Lawrence. Vriese dropped back and Tomac moved past Jett Lawrence and Hunter Lawrence passed Roczen. Tomac also passed Stewart for fourth place.

The top ten was Webb, Roczen, Lawrence, Tomac, Stewart, Jett Lawrence, Friese, Savatgy, Anderson, Ferrandis. Tomac into third as he passed Hunter Lawrence and Jett Lawrence passed Stewart, A lot happening in this San Diego main event, Sexton up to 18th place. Prado in 13th and not looking great. This supercross game is tough for rookies.

Roczen who had repassed Hunter Lawrence was all over Webb for the lead and Tomac 2.3 seconds back, then the Lawrence brothers both battling around five seconds off the leaders. Jett into fourth place and Tomac all over the back wheel of Roczen for second place.

Jett Lawrence catching Tomac and Roczen for second and third, as those two were closing up on Webb. A four man battle for the lead expected any minute. Sexton up to 12th place and Prado still in 13th place. Tomac into second place with a pass on Roczen and Jett Lawrence right on the back wheel of those two now.

The Star Racing Yamaha men, Webb and Tomac battling for first place as Jett Lawrence looks for a way to get past Roczen. Plessinger out of the race with sickness and Lawrence into third as he passed Roczen. Lawrence all over Tomac and Webb and looking very fast. Tomac into the lead and Lawrence into second as Webb is dropped to fourth.

Top ten was Tomac, Lawrence, Webb, Roczen, Hunter Lawrence, Stewart, Anderson, Barcia, Sexton and Ferrandis. Prado still 13th behind Cooper and ahead of Hill. Lawrence hounding Tomac for the lead and Webb now three seconds off their pace in third, with Roczen five seconds back in fouth. Sexton flying in seventh spot. Prado dropped to 14th and not looking good at all.

Sexton all over Stewart for sixth place and he made the pass to get into sixth place. Tomac and Lawrence going through the traffic as they are still locked together. Tomac nearly collided wit ha lapper and two minutes remaining. Lawrence still looking rough through the whoops section, but his bike working much better tonight.

Last two laps and Tomac looking strong in first with Lawrence looking a little off and for sure not the same rider as last year. Mistake by Lawrence in the whoops and Tomac now two seconds away. Tomac takes the win, his 11th year of winning a main event.
