For Red Bull KTM Factory rider Chase Sexton, it was all about being patient and not doing dumb stuff and that worked out well as he took the overall victory at the Birmingham supercross with a 1-1-2 triple treat. The former AMA supercross and AMA motocross champion sure showed that he means business in 2025.

Chase Sexton: It was nice to finally get the monkey off my back, I hadn’t won forever, and it was nice to get the wins, and I knew I needed to get a start and not do anything stupid and not make mistakes like in Dallas. Coop is riding well really as are these guys (Stewart and Plessinger) and hopefully it’s a fight to the end.

Sexton, so often known for blowing it under pressure, tonight we saw a more mature KTM rider and while his victory wasn’t a huge bonus points wise, it sure must have given him a lot of confidence in his battle for the 2025 AMA 450 supercross championship against two time champion, Cooper Webb, who finished fourth overall with 7-4-1 results.

Second overall was Malcolm Stewart with 3-2-3 results and third yet another Austrian charger, Aaron Plessinger of the Red Bull KTM Factory team with 2-3-5 scores. Ken Roczen fought through pain from an injury with 4-6-4 for fifth overall. In the championship points it’s Webb on 211, Sexton on 203 and Roczen on 184.

Nate Thrasher won the 250 overall with 3-3-2 scores, with R J Hampshire second with 1-2-5 results ahead of series lead Tom Vialle, who went 2-5-3. Vialle still leads the championship points.
