With the launch of the TF 450-RC Edition, Triumph Motorcycles takes its motocross range to new heights. In collaboration with Ricky Carmichael, the GOAT of motocross, Triumph has created a bike that sets new standards in performance, design, and rider experience.

In this exclusive Q&A, Ricky shares his thoughts on the design, development, and personal touches that make the TF 450-RC Edition a standout in Triumph’s growing motocross line-up. From its cutting-edge features to the pride of seeing his iconic number 4 and GOAT logo on this model, here’s what Ricky had to say:

Motocross has obviously been a huge part of your life; how does it feel to have your name on a dirt bike?

It feels incredibly humbling. I’m also very proud to have my name on such an iconic brand of motorcycle.

This is an all-new model for Triumph. What did you want to achieve when you were developing this model with Triumph’s engineering team?

I wanted to develop a bike that I thought would perform well for all tiers of riders, and make it something enjoyable. The Triumph engineering team have delivered.

This bike features Triumph’s first 450cc competition engine. How does it feel on a motocross track?

The bike felt great when I rode it at MX of Nations; I was wishing I could have ridden it more!

The TF 450-RC Edition is equipped with several accessories as standard. Can you explain the reason behind choosing these accessories?

I think the XTRig Holeshot Device, Hinson clutch cover, and ODI RC4 Signature handlebars look good for one, and they add a nice personal touch that also complements the performance of the bike.

The TF 450-RC features your iconic number 4 and GOAT logo. What does it mean to you to have these signature graphics feature on the TF 450-RC Edition?

To have my logos on the bike, and my number is so special, and really makes it that much more personal.

The unique, lightweight aluminium frame has been tuned specifically for this bike. What does it feel like to ride this motocross bike?

I like the wide range of adjustability the bike has from a suspension standpoint. I like how it handles, and I really enjoy the power of the engine and the delivery of it!

With Ricky’s expertise and passion infused into every aspect of the TF 450-RC Edition, it’s clear this bike isn’t just built for performance—it’s built for riders of all levels to experience the thrill of motocross at its finest. As Triumph continues to expand its motocross line-up, the TF 450-RC Edition sets a new benchmark for what’s possible on the track.
