For HRC General Manager Marcus Pereira de Freitas, the start of the 2025 season has been a busy one and also a challenging one. With their two MX2 and two MXGP riders, the HRC effort now have their hands full with four riders all capable of scoring major points in the two classes and no doubt, that is the goal of the complete team.

With his two MXGP riders, Ruben Fernandez and Tim Gajser finishing with 10th and third positions in the overall table and his MX2 riders, Valerio Lata and Ferruccio Zanchi ninth and 16th overall, they had good and bad moments in Argentina.

Heading to round two in Spain, the goals will remain the same and the challenges will remain tough, but HRC have the riders and the budget to move forward and win GPs and capture podiums, in both classes. Here is what he thought of the weekend.

Travelling to Argentina

We had been building for this race for a long time it seems and we would see all that work come to life. Argentina isn’t an easy place for round one, and this year we also headed to a different track so that means everyone starts from zero. Still, we often checked out the progress and it seems like they’ve done a good job there. All four riders are came into the race prepared and excited to get going and we will do our best to give them the right opportunity to show the world what they are capable of.

Saturday in Argentina

The start of the season is finally here and as expected, it threw up a lot of challenges. All four guys are probably left the track unhappy with their performances. But that’s a good thing because we know they want more and we’ll be doing our best to try and make that happen. The Cordoba track is a very well-made circuit, but the conditions were hard for all the guys out there and with it being the first race, there is always a lot of pressure and adrenaline to control. The weather stayed good, because if it did, it really was spectacular. We fully expected all of our riders to rise to the occasion.

Sunday in Argentina

A new circuit always brings new challenges, but I think everyone in the team raised their game and we coped with everything over the course of the weekend, even the change in the weather. I think each of the four riders know that they can get better results and will be thinking about that on the long-flight home. There were some positives though, and we will pack up here and make sure we’re ready to fight once again in the second round in Spain in a couple of weeks’ time.
