Lucas Coenen - Perfect in Sweden
Nestaan Husqvarna rider Lucas Coenen has won the MX2 class in Sweden, with a perfect 1-1 performance and 50 points, and in doing so closed the gap down on his team-mate, and red plate owner, Kay De Wolf, who went 7-4 for 32 points, a loss of 18 points on his Belgian team-mate.
Lucas Coenen: I needed it a perfect weekend. I took good starts. Yesterday was tough, but today, I needed to show them I can win and I won two motos. It feels good. We keep building for The Netherlands.
Coenen is really building some momentum, but the championship points lead by the Dutchman is still pretty large, with just five GPs remaining. De Wolf holds a 49 point advantage over Coenen, heading the the Dutchmans home GP next weekend.
MX2 Moto Two
Langenfelder led the second MX2 moto from Lucas Coenen, Adamo, Everts, Haarup, Zanchi, De Wolf, Sasha Coenen, McLellan, Braceras in 10th. Elzinga 12th and Chambers 13th. De Wolf into fifth place and looking very aggressive to make passes.
Lap one and it was Langenfelder, just ahead of Lucas Coenen, then Adamo, Everts, de Wolf, Haarup, Zanchi, McLellan, Braceras and Elzinga 10th. Sasha Coenen dropped to 13th, just ahead of Chambers. Lucas Coenen into the lead and heading for a 1-1 performances here in Sweden.
Lap seven and it was Lucas Coenen with a lead of four seconds over Adamo, then Langenfelder, Everts, De Wolf, Haarup, Zanchi, McLellan, Elzinga, and Reisulis 10th. Lap 10 and it was still Lucas Coenen with the lead over Adamo, Langenfelder, Everts, De Wolf, Haarup, Zanchi, McLellan, Elzinga and Reisulis.
De Wolf moved into fourth place as he passed Everts, the only change inside the top ten in what is becoming a pretty boring old race. Lucas Coenen wins it from Adamo and Langenfelder.
