It was Australian Jett Lawrence and Japan's Jo Shimoda who took the first SX1 and SX2 races. Both showed brilliant speed, but it was obviously the performance of Lawrence, who really dominated his rivals.

SX1 Race One

Jett Lawrence led the first SX1 race from brother Hunter, then Aranda, Ferrandis, but Aransa moved into second, with Hunter passing quickly and Ferrandis did the same, then came Webb, Stewart, Tixier, Alberto. Lap one and the lead was 1.7 seconds, with Ferrandis in third 2.1 seconds behind the leader.

Ferrandis moved into second, but again Hunter Lawrence found his way back behind his brother, as Stewart was pushing both those riders. Great battle with Lawrence, Ferrandis and Stewart and Webb joined the battle, while Jett Lawrence was riding off into the distance.

Ferrandis into second and Stewart into third as Hunter dropped to fourth, then Stewart moved past Ferrandis as Webb trying to get past Hunter Lawrence. Jett Lawrence now 2.8 second lead on lap four. Webb moved past Hunter Lawrence for fourth and these AMA riders basting away from the locals.

Webb really pushing hard to get around Ferrandis, as Stewart closing down the lead of Lawrence, on lap six it was 2.4 seconds. Webb moved past Ferrandis to get into third, but nobody could stop Jett Lawrence, who won by nearly three seconds from Malcolm Stewart and Cooper Webb.

SX2 Race One

Red Bull KTM Factory rider Tom Vialle took the lead early in the SX2 race, with Jo Shimoda quickly into second place, followed by Fonvielle, Bourdon, Maylin, Lamarque, Boisrame, Lebeau, Despray and Soulimani in 10th. Vialle continued to lead as he gapped Shimoda by three seconds with Fonvielle 5.2 back in third.

Vialle in 13th and his chances of becoming Prince of Paris not looking great at this stage. Five races go to, tonight and tomorrow, but he is going to need some help. Shimoda wins it from Fonvielle and Bourdon.
