Lawrence Wins Open Qualifier
Jett Lawrence from Team Australia did what everyone expected as he won the Open class qualification race ahead of Spanish rider Ruben Fernandez, Maxime Renaux from France and exciting fourth place for Conrad Mewse of Great Britain.
Aparecido from Brazil led from Fernandez, Lawrence, Renaux, Bonacorsi, Coldenhoff, Toendel, Plessinger, Pancar and Mewse. Fernandez into the lead and Mewse into seventh place. Plessinger back to ninth, and Lawrence into second place. Renaux into third as he passed Aparedico. Lawerence all over Fernandez and clearly faster and Jago Geerts back in 11th place for Belgium.
Fernandez doing a brilliant job up front and suddenly Lawrence into the lead ahead of Fernandez, Renaux, Aparedido, Bonacorsi, Mewse, Coldenhoff, Plessinger, although the American passed Coldenhoff for seventh place soon after.
Lawrence got to three seconds ahead of Fernandez, with Renaux seven seconds back in third place and both Bonacorsi and Mewse passed Aparecido, with Plessinger and Coldenhoffbehind the Brazilian, then Toendel, Pancar and Geerts. Mewse into fifth place and showing real good speed.
Plessinger passed Coldenhoff for sixth place as it seems Coldenhoff is struggling with two laps remaining. Top ten was Lawrence, Fernandez, Renaux, Mewse, Bonacorsi, Plessinger, Coldenhoff, Toendel, Pancar and Aparedico. Lawrence wins it from Fernandez and Renaux.
