Lawrence Wins - Dutch Lead
Team Australia rider Jett Lawrence has won the Open/MX2 moto at the MXoN and ahead of Ruben Fernandez, and Simon Langenfelder. Team The Netherlands still lead, but just with the Dutch on 34 points, then Team USA 35pts, Australia 39 points and France 41pts. Australia getting 1-20, Plessinger and Webb scored 7-9, the Dutch went 5-18, and the French 4-12.
Jett Lawrence: It was really good but we have to deal with vision and I had mistakes with my goggles and self-inflicted mistakes, but we need to conserve our energy for the next one. The track is rutted and slick and we need to change some things on the bike, to make it easier for me for the final moto.
Open/MX2 Moto
Fernandez led from Langenfelder, Reisulis, Jett Lawrence quickly into second and de Wolf another brilliant start in fifth, then Plessinger, Geerts, Renaux, Adamo, Wright and Coldenhoff in 13th place. Vialle 12th, Webster 12th. Plessinger flying and into fourth place and Webb in 14th position.
Lawrence all over Fernandez for the lead and the top ten was quickly Lawrence, Fernandez, Langenfelder, Plessinger, de Wolf, Reisulis, Renaux, Geerts, Vialle, Adamo, Webster, Coldenhoff, with Webb in 15th. Websters into 10th place and helping the Aussies gain ground on the Dutch. Mewse 20th and Anstie did not start the moto.
De Wolf back into fourth and he passed Plessinger and Renaux all over Plessinger as the Aussies are 1-10, the Dutch 4-13, the French 6-9 and the Americans 5-12. Lap one the lead by Lawrence was 2.6 seconds. At this point it was the Dutch 28 points and the Aussies 30 pts.
Webb up to 11th place and de Wolf moved past Langenfelder and don’t be surprise if he goes after Fernandez. Top 15 on lap two was Lawrence, Fernandez, de Wolf, Langenfelder, Plessinger, Renaux, Vialle, Reisulis, Geerts, Webster, Webb, Coldenhoff, Bonacorsi, Mewse and Teresak in 15th.
Lawrence extended his lead to 5.3 seconds and de Wolf was all over Fernandez, with Renaux and Plessinger battling, but then the American moved into fourth place as De Wolf crashed out. However, De Wolf and Renaux both passed Plessinger and on lap four it was Australia with 1-16 as Webster dropped to 16th place, the Dutch were 4-11 and really making a big gap now on the Aussies. USA was 6-10, and the French 5-7. Positional changed happing often in this moto. Webster had to stop for goggles and that was why he dropped to 16th.
Vialle also moved past Plessinger and Mewse into the top ten as he passed Webb. Coldenhoff in 12th has Webb not far ahead on the MX2 machine and ahead of them are Mewse and Geerts. De Wolf back into third place and three seconds off Fernandez. The World MX2 champion showing he is the fastest 250 rider in the World.
Webster up to 14th place, but this score surely to be dropped as the Aussies worst result. Coldenhoff into 11th as Vialle went in for new goggles and dropped to 14th position. Webster now 13th. Australia are placed 1 and 13, the Dutch are 4-11, Team USA 6-10 and France 4-16. De Wolf passed by Renaux and Langenfelder also putting pressure on the Dutchman.
Lap 9 the lead by Lawrence was 10 seconds over Fernandez and then cam Langenfelder, Renaux, de Wolf, Plessinger, Reisulis, Mewse, Geerts and Webb 10th. Coldenhoff 11th, Webster 13th and Vialle 16th. Plessinger passed De Wolf who is making a lot of mistakes. Webster up to 12th and really showing good speed, despite his problems.
Mewse up to eight behind Reisulis and de Wolf, with the Dutch now 6-11 and the Aussies 1-12, so a slight gain for the Australian team. Webster though dropped to 14th and that gain is now gone for the time being. Top 15 on lap 11 was Lawrence, Fernandez, Langenfelder, Renaux, Plessinger, de Wolf, Reisulis, Mewse, Geerts, Webb, Coldenhoff, Toendel, Oliver, Haarup, Webster in 15th. Mewse into seventh place.
De Wolf moved past Plessinger, to strengthen the Dutch’s challenge for the Chamberlain trophy. Lawrence 14 seconds ahead of Fernandez and Webster dropped to 19th and for sure the Aussies throw away results. Coldenhoff passed by Haarup to make the Aussies problems also a little more difficult. Mewse passed Plessinger for sixth place and the American again struggling against the best in the World. Lawrence wins the race from Fernandez and Langenfelder.
