Red Bull KTM Factory rider, Simon Langenfelder has won the opening MX2 moto in France this afternoon. The German chased down the early leader Liam Everts and controlled the race once in front.

In his moto win, he also joined Kay De Wolf of the Nestaan Husqvarna factory team in the championship points and closed up on Everts in the points, who finished third in the moto, behind Langenfelder and Adamo.

Championship points are now Liam Everts 119 points, Simon Längenfelder 112pts, Kay de Wolf 112pts, Andrea Adamo 99pts and Sacha Coenen 94 points.

Simon Langenfelder: Track was very technical, I liked it more than yesterday. I missed some gears and that took my heart rate up, but I am very happy.

MX2 Moto One

Reisulis led the opening MX2 moto from Everts, Coenen, Benistant, Langenfelder, Gwerder, Adamo, Braceras, Mikula, Balin, Lata and De Wolf back in 11th place. Coenen into second, but Everts took him straight back. Langenfelder also passed Coenen.

Everts into lead, but a little out of shape and Reisulis got him back. De Wolf into 10th place and Zanchi back in 19th place. Adamo pass Coenen for fourth place and on lap one it was Reisulis, Everts, Langenfelder, Adamo, Coenen, Valin, Benistant, de Wolf, Gwerder and Braceras in 10th. Zanchi a mistake and now in 30th place.

Everts back into the lead and he might just walk away in this one, these are his type of conditions. Lap four and the lead by Everts was 2.2 seconds with Langenfelder all over Reisulis for second and de Wolf moved into seventh place, but nearly 10 seconds off the leader.

Langenfelder and Adamo both passed Reisulis and the KTM boys chasing after the Husky man. Coenen also looking for a way past Reisulis as de Wolf chases down Benistant for sixth place. Coenen into fourth and again, an Austrian domination in MX2. Benistant passed Reisulis and de Wolf also looking for a way to pass the Latvian.

Everts clocked the quickest lap, but so too did Langenfelder and Adamo. Everts lead on lap seven was 2.1 seconds, with Adamo a couple of seconds further back. Lata riding well and into 8th place after an average start. De Wolf 14 seconds off the leader and struggling somewhat.

Langenfelder all over Everts for the lead as Adamo 2.8 seconds off the leader. Zanchi now 21st and Langenfelder tried to push his way through to the lead and Everts not happy as he felt the move was a bit dirty. Everts still in the lead and pushing hard to stay there.

Everts pushing a little harder and now around a second ahead of the German rider, and Adamo losing ground on those two. De Wolf 15 seconds off the leaders. Langenfelder into the lead, but Everts pushing to stay with him and Coenen in fourth place catching the front three. Zanchi up to 16th place.

Langenfelder now 1.7 seconds ahead of Everts, with Adamo a second further back, and Coenen five seconds off the pace of Langenfelder. De Wolf into sixth place and Lata into seventh spot. Reisulis dropping slowly back as the more experienced men get him. Zanchi now 15th and still making up places after his big mistake. De Wolf 22 seconds off the leader.

Lap 12 and the lead by Langenfelder over Everts was nearly four seconds, with Adamo a further second behind, but suddenly Adamo was onto Everts and made a pass. Maybe Everts struggling with arm pump after all the pressure he had to deal with.

Things settling down as the lead by Langenfelder over Adamo was three seconds, with Everts two seconds further back and Coenen now nine seconds off the pace. Then came Benistant, De Wolf, Lata, Reisulis, Oliver and Prugnieres in 10th. A very comfortable win for Langenfelder, followed by Adamo and Everts.
