Langenfelder Perfect Win
Simon Langenfelder of the Red Bull KTM factory team has had a perfect day in Switzerland with a 1-1 performance and has also getting closer to taking over the red plate from defending champion Kay De Wolf, of the Nestaan Husqvarna factory team. Second overall was Liam Everts with 3-3 and third Kay De Wolf with 2-4 scores.
World championship points are now Kay de Wolf 281 points, Simon Längenfelder 278pts, Andrea Adamo 258pts, Liam Everts 251pts, Thibault Benistant 203pts.
Simon Langenfelder: I was feeling good today, I like a technical track with all those bumps and lines and I get my second 1-1 and it was time to get it done again and I am really happy. Even though we had some challenges with the bike, we had good starts and I could check out and ride my own race.
MX2 Moto Two
Langenfelder with the holeshot from Adamo, Lata, Benistant, Gwerder, Everts, Oliver, McLellan, de Wolf and Farres 10th. Everts into third place and De Wolf and Farres moved past McLlellan who dropped to 10th. Coenen was 15th and Valk 14th.
Lap three and Langenfelder had a 2.3 second lead over Adamo, then Everts, De Wolf, Lata, Benistant, Farres, Oliver, McLellan and Reisulis 10th. Valk 13th, Coenen 14th, Zanchi 16th. Lap five and the lead was 1.8 seconds, with Everts and De Wolf in a great battle for third place.
Lap nine and the lead by 4.1 second, with Adamo two seconds ahead of Everts in third, then De Wolf, Lata, Benistant, Farres, Oliver, McLellan, and Reisulis 10th. De Wolf crashed and dropped to sixth place. On lap 11 it was Langenfelder, Adamo, Everts, Lata, Benistant, de Wolf, Farres, McLellan, Oliver and Reisulis.
Some movement at the front as Benistant passed Lata for fourth place and de Wolf also passed the Honda rider to move into fifth. Lap 15 and Langenfelder held a nine second lead over Adamo, with Everts two seconds behind the Italian, then came Benistant, De Wolf, Lata, McLellan, Farres, Oliver and Reisulis.
Everts all over Adamo for second place and looking for a 3-2 score himself. De Wolf chasing Benistant to also make his way to the podium in Switzerland. Three laps remaining and it was Langenfelder with 10 seconds over Adamo, then Everts, Benistant and de Wolf. De Wolf passed Benistant and Langenfelder takes the moto win and the GP victory.
