  • Race Report

Red Bull KTM factory rider Simon Langenfelder really showed his liking to the circuit today as he took the lead early in the MX2 moto one and just walked away with the race. Behind him, the action was intense between a handful of riders fighting for the top three. After a race long battle, De Wolf just pipped Everts and McLellan in what was a great fight.

Simon Langenfelder: Struggling with the starts, but not with this one. Riding comfortable and found some good lines and finishing first, that is always good.

MX2 Moto One

Langenfelder with the lead early from Coenen, de Wolf, Adamo, McLellan, Everts, Lata, Zanchi, Farres and Dechslin 10th. Valk 14th, Elzinga 15th. Coenen into the lead as he passed the German rider and Everts into fourth spot.

On lap two it was Coenen with a 1.1 second lead over Langenfelder, then de Wolf, Everts, Adamo, McLellan, Farres, Lata, Reisulis and Valk 10th. Adamo went down and dropped from fifth to eight. Valk up to seventh and really showing good speed again.

So, with the two Red Bull KTM riders fighting for first and second, the two Nestaan Husky men were trying to reel them in in third and fourth, with the two Triumph factory riders, fifth and sixth. Langenfelder took the lead on lap five and quickly moved 1.7 seconds ahead of Coenen.

Lap nine and it was Langenfelder with a 4.5 second lead over Coenen, then de Wolf right on the back wheel of Coenen, and Everts 7.4 seconds off the leader. The remaining top ten was McLellen, Farres, Lata, Valk, Adamo and Reisulis 10th.

De Wolf moved into second place with a pass on Coenen and Everts followed his team-mate past Coenen. The lead by Langenfelder over de Wolf was seven seconds. Benistant after a bad start and getting through the pack, crashed again and found himself again outside the top 15.

While Langenfelder extends his lead to 10 seconds, de Wolf, and Everts are very close and McLellan is also making ground on the front guys. The other top ten guys were Coenen, Adamo, Farres, Lata, Valk, and Oliver. Yamaha factory rider Elzinga and Benistant are 13th and 14th.

Lata a crash and lost spots, ending back in 10th place and Everts and McLellan were all over De Wolf, fighting for second spot. Lapped riders everywhere as these three battle for positions. Brilliant racing between these three riders.

With only a few laps remaining the lead by Langenfelder was 9.3 seconds and the fight for second remained on. Yamaha factory riders Reisulis, Benistant and Elzinga now 11th, 12th and 13th. Not a great day for the blue boys. Adamo moved into fifth passing Coenen. Langenfelder wins it easily from De Wolf and Everts.
