JM Racing and Acerbis
A month or so ago, Acerbis were excited to host the JM Honda Racing team from Belgium at Acerbis HQ! From personalized racewear fittings to an exclusive padel lesson with custom Acerbis uniforms, we spent the day strengthening the bond between our brand and the team.
The Acerbic technical teams also had the chance to exchange insights with the JM Honda Racing crew, helping us develop even more high-performance products for our riders. Bavo Swijgers image
The line up of the team we will support again this year will be as follows: the Belgian Brent Van Doninck, the young Spanish talent David Braceras, and the outgoing European Champion of the EMX125 class Noel Zanocz, ready for his debut in the competitive EMX250 on the Honda CRF250R.
In 2025, the JM Honda Racing Team also gained a major recognition, direct support from HRC further confirming the tremendous efforts made by Team Manager and 1993 500cc World Champion, Jacky Martens.
The day began with a classic Italian coffee get-together with our in-house Acerbis team before starting the day’s activities. The riders’ presence in the company was an important moment to be able to converse with our internal team of technicians and share feedback for the development of our products.
The three riders then assembled in the Acerbis fitting room where technicians began by taking all the necessary measurements to produce custom apparel for them.
Acerbis boasts an extensive database updated with the physical details of all the athletes in order to continually refine the fitting of its sportswear and be able to sew it on its riders, just like a second skin.
After the measurement phase Brent, David, and Noel had a chance to talk to the R&D department where technicians showed them the latest developments in terms of the fabrics they will be using in competition in the 2025 season. Pants, jerseys, gloves, bibs, knee pads etc. are all customized for the riders to offer them the best feeling during the racing season. The riders were then able to offer advice and suggestions to the technicians based on their experience gained from years of racing.
During the day we had the opportunity to accompany the Team on a visit to our company headquarters based in Albino, in the province of Bergamo. The riders were able to get to know all the departments involved in the work behind the development of products dedicated to motorsport. From the Creative Center where the design of pants, jerseys, gloves, and helmets comes to life, to the production line of Acerbis handguards. In particular, Team JM Honda Racing riders use our Linear handguard in FIM Motocross World Championship races.
Among the various activities organized for Team JM was a fun Padel match that saw Braceras and his mechanic Maxime take on the Van Doninck/Zanocz duo and win! This was a great opportunity for the riders to try on the Acerbis Sport line of clothing which Brent, David, and Noel will use for training sessions at the gym and during breaks between races.
To end the day together, we held a contest to get riders and team members involved in mounting handguards onto a bike. Brent, David, and Noel then stood in front of a box containing a pair of Acerbis Linear handguards for each, along with the iconic yellow Acerbis gloves, and had to install them in the shortest possible time on the Acerbis-branded Honda CRF.
David Braceras is not only one of the fastest and most promising riders in the MX2 class but also the winner of the contest with a time of 4 minutes to install the Acerbis Linear; behind him Brent and finally Noel. The contest was also a time of gathering and fun for the mechanics who were there to cheer on the riders and give them tips for a quick and painless installation.
