Jett Lawrence interview - The Hate
With his own nation having his back, the future GOAT of the sport talks about the negatives of racing away from home. Its a common story, we have heard from so many before, be it J. M. Bayle, Dylan Ferrandis or Mickeal Pichon. The three Frenchmen have suffered racing away from their homeland, and unfortunately, Lawrence has the same situation now, as he wins time and time again.
A think the love/hate relationship fans have with the current AMA supercross champion will be amped up and expect a very unfriendly welcome come A1. A good move by Lawrence, or something that will see him battered by the media and fans in America? It should also be pointed out, a lot of American fans love the young Aussie, but unfortunately, we all take in the negative comments from people, better than the positive comments. It is human nature.
As fans, we all love drama in the racing and if the hate makes him faster, then 2025 might be a record year for the HRC factory rider as he tries to add to his two AMA 250 motocross championship, AMA 450 motocross championship, AMA 450 supercross championship, two SMX championships and of course, the biggest prize in the sport, the Chamberlain trophy victory with Team Australia. He also has a 250 regional title in supercross, but that shouldn't ever be counted in the big picture.
Already a legend of the sport, if at any stage he wants to return to Europe and go after a bunch of MXGP title, we would welcome him with open arms and you can be sure, he would be a huge fan favourite, just as Chad Reed was on his single season in the GPs.
