An American in Indonesia

American Jack Chambers sure has added something to the MXGP scene and while his results haven’t been brilliant in 2024, he has stuck in there and continues to give his all. If you watch his vlogs from the GPs, then you will also see the guy has some serious character.

It was an unfortunate start to the racing at the second round of the Indonesian flyaway, as a big crash a few laps in to the first race would shake the American. However, he valiantly rejoined the race and managed to secure four points by the chequered flag.

The second race showed much more promise as Chambers worked his way up to 11th, and while pushing for a spot in the top ten broke his buckle on his race trousers and was unable to ride comfortably, eventually finishing in 14th to collect 15th overall.

Jack Chambers: Had the best time exploring the island of Lombokand golfing with some of the boys! Saw some Turtles, monkeys on the mountain and some beautiful waterfalls!

Chambers - Lombok II: The racing didn't go to plan with a huge crash in Moto 1 and some mistakes in Moto 2. Some kinks to continue to work out but we are getting there. It was a tough day. In the first race I had a really big crash a couple of laps in; I found my flow again towards the end with decent lap times to pull back a couple of positions, but I had hit my head pretty hard in the crash and we even discussed whether I should start race two during the break.

“We decided to go and I was fighting for top-ten until I got unlucky when I broke the buckle on my race trousers which made it hard to ride properly. We had a decent two weekends; the highlight was definitely the eighth place in Quali last week. Now we fly back to Europe; I'm feeling a little depleted now so I will try to rest up a little this week before the next round of the British Championship, which I am leading, and then on to the next GP in the Czech Republic.

Chambers - Lombok I: I had a decent ride in the first moto; I started tenth for a couple of laps but then I was struggling a little with my hands and went back to fifteenth before moving forward again. I made the pass for tenth on the last lap but went off the track right before the finish line and had to be satisfied with eleventh. I just rode too conservatively in race two in the mud. I made a pass into thirteenth, but I collided with them and it broke off my footrest on the last lap and had to ride around with my foot on the casings. We'll chill this week and probably take a look around the island one day but we'll continue doing the work-outs with runs and the gym to be ready for next weekend."
