While Tim Gajser of Slovenian has taken the MXGP/MX2 moto win, it was the Dutch who led the team points, as their two riders, Jeffrey Herlings and De Wolf finished in fifth and sixth. The Dutch on 11 points, then came Team USA with 19 points, Austalia 19 points and the French 25 points.

Tim Gajser: Yes, I mean, I was enjoying it and its getting greasy and getting slippery. I was behing Jorge and made a nice pass. I was able to lead and run my own race. I did get some pressure, but it was okay.

MXGP/MX2 Moto

Prado with the holeshot ahead of Gajser, Herlings, Tomac and Roczen, what a lineup all at the front. Seewer in sixth, Febvre seventh, Webster and Coenen top two MX2 riders in eighth and ninth and in 10th place Vialle. Battle stations. Roczen moved past Tomac and Herlings to move into third.

Herlings back into third and it’s the MXGP top three top three at the Nations. Hunter Lawrence back in 19th place and struggling. De Wolf 11th and fighting to get to the other MX2 riders. Roczen back in third. Gajser into the lead and the slightly wet conditions will test Prado as the other have better mud skills. Herlings also moved past Roczen again and this is high tension racing.

Herlings a mistake and he again goes down and back in 12th place. Lap one it was Gajser, Prado, Tomac, Febvre, Roczen, Seewer, Coenen, Webster, Lopes, and De Wolf 10th. De Wolf moved into ninth place and onto Webster. Hunter Lawrence up to 13th place.

Tomac into second place as he also passed Prado, Roczen passed by Febvre and Seewer and positions all over the place. Stunning racing. Lawrence moved past Herlings and into 11th place, with Herlings 12th. Coenen, Webster and De Wolf in seventh, eight and ninth. At this point, Webb was 18th for USA and Searle 17th. Reisulis impressive in 16th place.

Lap three and its Gajser with a 1.2 second lead over Tomac, then Prado, Febvre, Seewer, Roczen, Coenen, Webster, de Wolf and Lawrence 10th. Herlings 11th. Brilliant battle between Roczen and Coenen, as the Belgian moved past Roczen and Coenen chasing down Seewer now. Anstie in 21st place and struggling. No surprise win by Team GB in 2024.

Tomac not letting Gajser get away and Coenen moved past Seewer to get into fifth place on his MX2 machine. How good is this Coenen kid. Vialle in 15th place and unbelievable, Australian leading on 19th points with Webster and Lawrence both top ten. Febvre pushed his way past Prado and yes, wet just doesn’t suit Prado, the 2024 MXGP champion. Coenen catching Prado.

Gajser and Tomac still battling and they held a 5.6 second gap over third place Febvre. Lawrence passed Webster and the Aussies ninth and 10th. Herlings also passed Webster with the Aussies on 20 points and The Netherlands on 18th points. De Wolf and Lawrence in a nice battle and the Dutchman pushed the Aussie wide and de Wolf also flying.

Top 20 on lap six was Gajser, Tomac, Febvre, Prado, Coenen, Seewer, Roczen, de Wolf, Lawrence, Herlings, Webster, Forato, Lopes, Horgmo, Adamo, Reisulis, Webb, Vialle, Anstie, and Van Doninck. Vialle dropped to 21st and McLellan into 19th place.

Coenen just two seconds off Prado for fourth place and so many teams in contention as Adamo goes in for goggles and Herlings all over Lawrence as the Dutch and Aussies fight for the top spot. Gajser now six seconds ahead of Tomac and the Dutch are on 17pts, Australia 21pts, USA 18pts. Lawrence passed by Webster and dropping places and Anstie crashed out of the moto.

Lawrence in for goggles and back in 12th place and the Aussies on 22 points, Belgium on 23 pts, the Netherlands 17pts and USA 18pts. De Wolf moved into seventh place passing Roczen and the Dutch looking very strong. Coenen one second behind Prado. Febvre catching Tomac for second. Tomac closing the gap to Gajser and Coenen now all over Prado and De Wolf all over Seewer.

Herlings into eight place with a pass on Roczen and the Dutch now on 15 points and the clear leaders. Forato passed Webster and the Aussies in 11th and 12th, so 23 points for the men from down under. Belgium with 5-17 are on 22 points. USA with 2-18 and 20 points.

Coenen crashed and out of the race. And Belgium are out of the running. Top 15 on lap 12 were Gajser, Tomac, Febvre, Prado, De Wolf, Herlings, Roczen, Lawrence, Forato, Webster, Lopes, Reisulis, Horgmo, McLellan in 15th. The Netherlands now on 13 points and second are Australia with 20 points. USA with 20 points.

Febvre without goggles pushing to pass Tomac but struggling to find lines where he doesn’t get roosted. De Wolf moved past Seewer and the Netherlands continue to pull away in the points and now on 12 points. De Wolf 14 seconds off Prado and not going to make up any points. Herlings will also go for Seewer as he is just a second behind.

Seewer a mistake and Herlings all over him. Herlings into sixth position and the Dutch now 11 points and being the clear favourite at this point. Gajser wins it from Tomac, Febvre, Prado, Herlings and de Wolf.
