Gajser and Seewer - Switzerland
The MXGP of Switzerland Presented by iXS officially opened today in Frauenfeld with a packed Opening Press Conference, setting the stage for a thrilling Easter weekend of racing in the heart of Switzerland.
The proceedings began with a special Swiss Moto presentation, exclusively unveiling the 2025 MXoN Team Switzerland jersey, and sharing the team’s vision for this year’s competition.
Swiss MXoN Team Manager Matt Rebeaud, alongside Jeremy Seewer from Aruba.it Ducati MX Team, spoke of the determination to bring the best riders to the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations in Crawfordsville, Indiana in the USA. Rebeaud also introduced the federation’s dedicated support staff with Rolf Enz, Swiss Moto CEO and member of the board, Swiss MXoN Team Advisor Diego Clement, and Team Coordinator Fabian Tellenbach and emphasised their ambition to place Team Switzerland among the world’s best.
Matt Rebeaud: “We’re a small country, but we have a big heart and strong athletes. This weekend is key to assessing our talent pool, and we’re proud to present our new jersey that represents the different moto categories under one identity.”
Jeremy Seewer added: “It’s always an honour to represent my country. I’m excited about the project and the opportunity to compete in the U.S. later this year. If we can stay healthy and perform at our best, a top-five finish is a realistic goal—and who knows, maybe even the podium.”
Following the Swiss Moto segment, the Official Opening Press Conference of the MXGP of Switzerland presented by iXS welcomed home hero Jeremy Seewer, reigning red plate holder Tim Gajser from Team HRC, and the event organizer Willy Laederach.
Willy Laederach, a driving force behind the Swiss event, expressed his pride: “It wasn’t easy to make it happen again, but thanks to an incredible team of over 460 volunteers, we're back. We may not have the most modern track in the world, but we have a passion and a public that make it special. We are grateful to Infront Moto Racing, the FIM, and of course, to the riders who choose to race in Switzerland.”
Jeremy Seewer spoke about the emotional value of racing at home, just minutes from where he grew up: “This is always a special race for me. I raced here as a kid and now I get to do it again in front of the fans—it’s unique. Of course, the track is different, but we embrace it. A huge respect to Willy and his team for making it happen.”
He also reflected on the balance between pressure and performance: “It’s a busy weekend for me. Everyone wants a piece of you—media, fans, partners—but I try to enjoy it and structure my schedule so I can stay focused. It’s stressful, yes, but I see it as a privilege. The energy from the crowd is powerful, and I hope I can use that as fuel to close the gap to the front runners.”
Tim Gajser, fresh from his commanding 1-1 victory in Trentino, arrives in Switzerland with momentum and confidence: “It was an amazing weekend in Trentino—perfect result, amazing fans, great atmosphere. But now it’s a new weekend and a different kind of track. It’s tight, technical, but I like it. Last year the rain made it really challenging, but those are the conditions where I feel strong.”
On his approach to the championship and consistency as the red plate holder, he added: “With many GPs in the season, consistency is everything. You can’t afford to make big mistakes. I’ve learned when to push and when to settle, and that comes with experience. Of course, I always want to win but being smart and knowing when to manage a race is what makes the difference over the season.”
The MXGP of Switzerland Presented by iXS promises to be a pivotal round in both the MXGP and MX2 championships, with passionate fans ready to cheer on the sport’s top stars in Frauenfeld.
