Febvre Leads the Way in Holland
The first race of the Dutch Masters of Motocross was held on the wooded circuit of Harfsen on Sunday. The audience was present in large numbers and was presented with very exciting heats. With Romain Febvre, Cas Valk, Levi Townley and Lucas Leok, we have four deserved winners who came out very strong.
Romain Febvre was too strong for the competition in both motos of the 500 class. Febvre controlled in both the first and second motos and scored maximum in Harfsen. Calvin Vlaanderen scored consistently with two second places and Jago Geerts was third on the podium with a 4-4 in the motos.
The performance of private driver Valentin Guillod was remarkably good. He led for a number of laps in the first moto and managed to finish third and fifth in the motos. With this he finished fourth in the day's classification just ahead of Andrea Bonacorsi.

In the 250 class, Cas Valk imposed his will on everyone. Valk was clearly the strongest and managed to heats. With two third places, David Braceras finished second ahead of Oriol Oliver: 4-4. Noel Zanocz was fourth and reigning champion, Rick Elzinga, did not have an easy time in Harfsen and finished sixth twice, after he rode into the starting gate in the second moto and came back to the front from last place.
The 125 class was beautiful to look at. Levi Townley gave everything he had and managed to take the win with a 2-1 in the motos. Dean Gregoire took the win in the first moto and did everything he could in the closing stages of the second moto to pass Townley. This just didn't work out, so he finished second, and also had to settle for second place in the day's classification. Douwe van Mechgelen made a good start in the championship and crossed the finish line in third place both times. Dani Heitink and Timo Heuver completed the top five in Harfsen.

Also in the 85cc class there was a lot of competition. Lucas Leok won both motos ahead of Harry DaLe. Luca Nierychlo led for a long time in the first moto but due to a mistake in the final phase he fell back to fourth place. In the second moto he managed to finish third and was also allowed to join the podium in third place. The first race of the Dutch Masters of Motocross is over, but it will only take four weeks before the next race in Oldebroek is scheduled (April 26).
