Nestaan Husqvarna factory rider Liam Everts has won the MX2 qualification race in Trentino today. The Belgian youngster looked very sharp as he followed early leader Thibault Benistant of the Monster Energy Yamaha factory team, before passing late in the race and moving away from the Yamaha man. Second was Benistant and third Simon Langenfelder of the Red Bull KTM factory team.

Liam Everts: Pretty good (race), decent start and passed (Langenfelder) early on and then followed Thibault (Benistant) and he was fast and zero mistakes, but the mistake he made I had him and then I made three good laps at the end and brought it home.

Championship points are now Kay de Wolf 191 points, Liam Everts 185pts, Simon Längenfelder 185pts, Andrea Adamo 171pts, Sacha Coenen 143pts.

Time running out as Benistant still led Everts, with the gap now less than a second and Langenfelder a further five seconds back in third, then came McLellan, de Wolf, Valk, Prugnieres, Reisulis, Oliver and Braceras in 10th.
