Red Bull KTM Factory rider Liam Everts has won the MX2 qualification race in Turkey today. The Belgian took the lead on the opening lap and just controlled the race up front. Second was Lucas Coenen and third, Mikkel Haarup. Kay De Wolf finished ninth after being crashed into by Simon Langenfelder while battling for a top five spot.

Championship points are now Kay de Wolf 833 points, Lucas Coenen 779pts and Simon Laengenfelder 734pts. So, De Wolf with a 54 point lead now.

Liam Everts: The start was not so good, got boxed in but found myself in second and passed Lucas, and I felt the pressure from Lucas near the end, but I put in some good laps and am looking forward to tomorrow.

Lucas Coenen led the MX2 qualifier from Everts, Benistant, Haarup, de Wolf, Langenfelder, Braceras, Weckman, Reisulis, Zanchi in 10th, Adamo 11th, Elzinga 13th. Everts into the lead as he passed Coenen, and Haarup into third place, with Adamo moving into ninth.

De Wolf into fourth as he passed Benistant and the lead by Everts was now two seconds over Coenen. On lap two the lead was 3.3 seconds as Everts looking very calm. Lap four and Everts still held around three seconds over Coenen, then came Haarup, de Wolf, Benistant, Zanchi, Langenfelder, Reisulis, McLellan and Adamo 10th.

Lap six and it was Everts with a 2.5 second lead over Coenen, then Haarup, de Wolf, Benistant, Langenfelder, Zanchi, Reisulis, McLellan and Adamo. Coenen closed up on Everts in the final stages of the moto, while Haarup was seven seconds back. De Wolf and Adamo crashed in the final lap as they came together, dropping De Wolf back to ninth. Everts wins from Coenen and Haarup.
