The track is set, the first test meters have been completed, the birthday party for the 40th ADAC Supercross Dortmund can begin. At the traditional opening press conference, the protagonists gave a first preview of three days of full-throttle action in the Westfalenhalle.

You can find the full results for Friday night right here, or the full weekends results here. Schedule below.

The Westfalenhalle will shake when the first "Hallooo Dortmund!" of the year sounds on Friday evening. Tickets are still available for the opening evening. Saturday is sold out – with the exception of around 100 gold tickets still available – and there are still a few tickets available for Sunday. "The great response from the fans is fantastic," said Jürgen Hieke, board member for sport at the organising ADAC Westfalen. And Hieke can judge that, because he was already on board at the premiere in 1983. "At the first event, I sold program booklets as part of the youth group. I was immediately infected and haven't missed a year since. In the meantime, it has become a mega event with a great tradition - the flagship of ADAC Westfalen. We are particularly proud of the many volunteers who do their part to make the Supercross a success every year."

Dean Wilson is competing in Dortmund for the first time. The Scotsman is the reigning Supercross Champion in Australia and competes for Lukes Racing – Hertrampf Group. "I watched the event on YouTube last year and it was clear to me that I had to go there," says Wilson. "First and foremost, I want to have fun, spend three great days and start my journey home with a good result. I know it's going to be tough because the competition is strong. But I'll give it my all." After a long injury break, Australian Mitch Evans finally feels comfortable on two wheels again and is also celebrating his Dortmund debut as Wilson's teammate. The long-time works rider from the MX World Championship was already a spectator in the Ruhr metropolis last year. "I was totally thrilled by the event," he enthuses. "I also raced Supercross in Australia a few years ago – but that was a completely different way. Here the track is extremely narrow and the ground is very demanding. I'm looking forward to three intense days with many fans in the Westfalenhalle."

The aforementioned clay floor, which was distributed with around 200 truckloads in the Westfalenhalle from Monday, also suits Dennis Ullrich in particular. The 31-year-old was the last German to win a stage in Dortmund in 2013. "That was twelve years ago and I remember it as if it were yesterday. Even then, I loved the extremely grippy floor," says Ullrich. "This year I'm going to try an experiment and ride a 350cc machine from KTM Sarholz. This should work very well, especially on the narrow course, which leads over six instead of four lanes this year." For the first time, Maximilian Spieß will be competing in SX1 in Dortmund. "I'm so keen on Supercross and especially on competing here in Dortmund," he says. "Unfortunately, I couldn't train much SX specifically. But I don't see that as a problem, I'm going into the race with a lot of composure and I'm curious to see how far I get. Most of the time, it doesn't work out so badly." Spieß also relies on an extraordinary motorcycle. For Becker Racing, he pilots a two-stroke KTM.

In the SX2 class, almost half of the riders are from Germany, especially Nico Koch, who goes into the final event for Becker Racing as fourth in the ADAC SX Cup – the Supercross winter series. "Last year I finished on the podium in Dortmund, that was an indescribable feeling. I would like to repeat that," he says. "For me, it's important to get off to a good start. After that, it usually runs by itself." Carl Ostermann (benzim) is also hoping for good results. The local hero from Bonn celebrated great successes in the Westfalenhalle in the 50cc, 65cc and 85cc classes. "I was here for the first time when I was six years old and have only missed Dortmund once in the last 14 years," he says. "My goal is to make it to the final on all three days of the event. But it's going to be tough, because the competition is fierce." Lion Kleinegrauthoff (Alfa-Suspension-Racing) from Schloss Holte-Stukenbrock not far from Dortmund also has the same goal. "I've trained a lot of Supercross this year and hope to make it to the finals on all evenings."

Tickets for the kick-off on Friday evening and Sunday are available at the box offices and at supercross-dortmund.de.
