  • Race Report

Nestaan Husqvarna rider Lucas Coenen has ridden a brilliant opening MX2 moto, taking victory after it looked like second was the best he could do. Second was Langenfelder and third Liam Everts. Series leader Kay De Wolf was caught in a first corner crash, but came back to fourth position. Championship points are now Kay de Wolf 851 points and Lucas Coenen 804pts.

Lucas Coenen: I had a good start, I don't know what place and then I took the lead, but I was struggling with lines and Simon passed me and then I look at the lines and went from there. We won it and now onto the second moto.

MX2 Moto One

At the start of the opening MX2 moto, it was Langenfelder with the lead ahead of Lucas Coenen, Everts, Benistant, Reisulis, Prugnieres, Braceras, Karssemakers, de Wolf, Elzinga in 10th. Adamo 11th and Haarup involved in a first lap crash with Zanchi and they were 17th and 19th respectively. De Wolf also involved, but got out without too much damage.

After two laps Coenen led with a 3.3 second gap over Langenfelder, with Everts third, then Benistant, Reisulis, Prugnieres, Braceras, de Wolf, Karssemakers and Adamo 10th. Everts a mistake and dropped to fifth.

Lap four and the lead by Coenen was just 1.1 seconds with Langenfelder still second, then Reisulis, Benistant, Prugnieres, Everts, Braceras, de Wolf, Karssemakers and Adamo 10th. Elzinga 11th and McLellan 13th.

Prugnieres moved into third place as he starts to show his talent and De Wolf up to sixth place and Elzinga into ninth place as Haarup moved into 13th position. Lap six the lead by Coenen was 1.4 seconds. Langenfelder into the lead and the two Husky riders championship points situation changing on every lap.

De Wolf up to fifth and again making the most of a bad day. Benistant a crash and dropped out of the top ten as Everts moved back into third and no doubt, Everts knows De Wolf is coming and wants to get going. De Wolf right onto Prugnieres for fourth place. The lead by Langenfelder was 2.2 seconds over Coenen, who was miles ahead of Everts, who was 23 seconds back in third.

Prugnieres a mistake and dropped from fourth to seventh and the top ten on lap nine was Langenfelder, Coenen, Everts, De Wolf, Reisulis, Adamo, Prugnieres, McLellan, Elzinga and Haarup a great comeback from his first turn crash and into 10th. Lap 12 and it was a 1.4 lead by Langenfelder over Coenen, with Everts 31 seconds back in third and de Wolf 40 seconds back, but clearly happy with fourth place for now.

Coenen went for the pass, but Langenfelder pulled back into the lead as these two battle for the moto win. Coenen back in the lead and hung onto the lead and the moto win, from Langenfelder, Everts and De Wolf. Championship points not changing too much as the two Nestaan Husqvarna riders continue to show brilliance.
