Wollongong is ready to welcome supercross fans for Round 3 of the FOX Australian Supercross Championship, taking place at WIN Stadium on November 2nd. With momentum building from the thrilling action of Rounds 1 and 2, the Wollongong Triple Crown promises another unforgettable day of world-class racing, fierce competition, and entertainment for all.

Following a sell-out crowd in the opening rounds in Queensland, Round 3 is expected to be unmissable, bringing thousands of fans to Wollongong. The season’s first ‘Triple Crown’ racing format will only heighten this, as riders compete for championship points in three races, across the night. The Wollongong round will prove pivotal to competitors' championship hopes.

The battles in the SX1 and SX2 classes are intensifying, with international stars like Dean Wilson and Joey Savatgy headlining the field. Defending champion Wilson will be looking to secure his position after facing stiff competition from fellow riders, while Savatgy aims to stake his claim to the title. Local legend from Nowra Matt Moss will be a fan favourite, determined to put on a show on his home turf, whilst fellow New South Welshman, Luke Clout represents another fierce Australian contender and, showed he has the pace to challenge the international competitors, and the Kawasaki rider currently sits third in the SX1 championship behind American Joey Savatgy (Honda) and Scotsman Dean Wilson (Honda).

Today, we caught up with local hero Matt Moss ahead of Round 3 of the Supercross Championship.

For Matt Moss, racing in Wollongong is a chance to reconnect with his roots and the fans who’ve fuelled his career. “There’s nothing like racing at home, with my family, friends, and the Wollongong crowd behind me. Their energy is unmatched, and I’m ready to give it everything.”

In addition to the premier championship SX1 (450cc) and SX2 (250cc) races, fans can look forward to a diverse lineup of action, including the Yamaha 65cc Cup, which featuring the next generation of supercross stars. Up to 20 excited 7- and 8-year-olds will take to the same track as their heroes. The 85cc class will also see rising talents like Seth Thomas & Jack Nunn push their limits, adding excitement to the day’s events.

What Can Fans Expect This Saturday: Wollongong’s Triple Crown isn’t just about the on-track racing—it’s a full-day festival of entertainment and activities for fans of all ages!

Pit Party: Fans will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with their favourite riders, check out the bikes, grab autographs, and experience the pre-race energy at the Pit Party, open to all ticket holders.

FMX Stunts: Prepare for jaw-dropping FMX (Freestyle Motocross) stunts between races. These adrenaline-pumping performances will feature high-flying tricks and gravity-defying feats, bringing an extra thrill to the day.

Activations & Fan Zones: From sponsor activations to interactive experiences, there will be plenty for fans to do throughout the day. Expect a mix of merchandise stands, food trucks, and activities to keep the energy high and everyone engaged.

Triple Crown Format: This event will follow the high-stakes Triple Crown format, where riders compete in three main events, accumulating points throughout the day. This format amps up the pressure for competitors and guarantees more intense racing for fans, as the rider with the most points by the end of the day will take home the win.

Broadcast & Global Reach: For those unable to attend in person, the event will be broadcast live, with national coverage through Kayo freebies, Fox Sports and international streaming via MAVTV.Supercross fans from around the world are expected to tune in, bringing global attention to Wollongong and showcasing the best of Australian and international supercross talent.
