At the award ceremony for the 40th ADAC Supercross Stuttgart, fans in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle heard familiar sounds. As in previous years, the French national anthem was played in the SX1 and SX2. In the final of the premier class, last year's winner Greg Aranda showed his class and drove to first place in the "race of the aces" with a flawless performance. His compatriots Jordi Tixier and Maxime Desprey completed the French triple victory. "I'm here to win. It was a great evening for me," said a delighted Aranda.

At 35, the veteran seems to be in the form of his life. He took the lead right from the start and held on to the lead until the end. Like clockwork, Aranda completed the laps with his excellent driving technique and gave his competitors no chance. Things were more exciting behind the Frenchman: Mitchell Harrison was in second position for a long time, but the US boy's strength waned towards the end of the race and he had to settle for fourth place. Things went better for Jordi Tixier, who fought his way forward lap after lap and was rewarded with second place. Maxime Desprey, winner of the SX2 last year, successfully fended off several attacks from his pursuers and secured third place on the podium.

Friday evening at the 40th ADAC Supercross Stuttgart took a different course for the German starters in the SX1. Maximilian Spies made it to the final with a courageous performance via the repechage. There, the 20-year-old from Brandenburg showed a strong performance, finishing in seventh place. "It was very exhausting," said Spies, exhausted but happy after the final. "It was the first time I'd ridden 18 laps in a row, my arms were a bit tired." For Mark Scheu from Grabenstetten, however, the evening was over after the qualification. "My goal was to get into the evening show, anything else would have been a bonus," said the local hero, who was nevertheless satisfied. "It was a great experience to ride in my home country."

SX2: Frenchman wins, German with good result
In the final of the SX2, US boy Preston Boespflug got the best start. But Frenchman Brice Maylin put him under increasing pressure, took the lead on lap four and, after a very strong race, crossed the finish line first ahead of Boespflug. "It was a perfect evening. I hope it continues like this tomorrow," said Maylin at the awards ceremony. The German representatives Nico Koch and Paul Haberland presented themselves in strong form and finished in fourth and fifth place. Koch even got a taste of the podium, harassing Izaih Clark (USA), who later came third. But the German's attacks were unsuccessful. "I was always a bit faster on the washboard, but Clark was better for the rest of the lap," said Koch. "Just before the end I tried to take advantage of the opportunity, but unfortunately misjudged it a bit."

The other drivers from Germany, including Paul Bloy, Malik Schoch and Kevin Winkle, missed the final. Bloy from Biberach was clearly suffering from the effects of an injury he sustained in preparation for the ADAC Supercross Stuttgart. He was eliminated in the repechage after falling in the qualification. "I didn't have a good start and then fell to the ground in the washboard. I couldn't save that mistake," said Bloy, disappointed.

SX4 junior class: Trautwein with a start-to-finish victory
The junior riders in the SX4 class had a lot of fun competing in front of a large audience. The drivers, aged between eight and twelve, fought for places with a purely electric drive. Philipp Trautwein from MSC Schnaitheim gave his competitors no chance and celebrated a safe start-to-finish victory. He got the best start in the final and quickly built up a lead. His pursuers included Noah Moosherr (1. RMC Reutlingen) and Timo Künzel (MSC Schnaitheim), who, however, fell behind in lap 4. Trautwein continued to lead the field confidently from the front and crossed the finish line with a clear gap of over four seconds to Reutlingen's Moosherr. Daniel Nelich from MSC Walldorf Astoria completed the winners' podium. The SX4 youth class will be raced at the ADAC Supercross Stuttgart on Friday, and the youngest from the SX5 will be at the start one day later.
