All time Winners in 2025
2025 is surely going to be a special year, because while we lose defending MXGP champion, Jorge Prad to America, we still have a long, long list of special riders racing for the 450 title and also the 250 titles.
One thing I am looking forward to is seeing if Tim Gajser or Jeffrey Herlings can become a six-time World champion, because its clear, those two will be fighting for the title, maybe against Romain Febvre, Jeremy Seewer and maybe even Lucas Coenen.
I cannot wait to see Tim Gajser win his 50th GP and then his 51st to pass the great Joel Robert (who has 50). For old guys like me, I still remember Robert holding the record for most GP wins, until Stefan Everts broke that record at Namur more than 20 years ago. It was a special day, with Robert there to celebrate with Everts. It seems 100% sure, Gajser will pass the 50 in 2025.
Of course, every victory by Herlings is just an addition to his already 107 wins, where he stands as the most successful GP winner of all time, but I would love to see him win World title number six and then sit just behind Everts and Antonio Cairoli in the all-time World title and GP winners list. He deserves to be there, as injuries have cost him so many titles.
I also look forward to seeing if Jeremy Seewer can get a GP win for Ducati, and also, will Lucas Coenen be able to battle the big men of the class. I think he can, and I hope he stays fit and focused and ends the season healthy, because we all know, the 450 is a monster and beats men up, time and time again.
Speaking of Romain Febvre, the 2015 World MXGP champion, he has 21 GP wins and can join the likes of Harry Everts, Dave Thorpe, Alex Puzar, Sten Lundin, Rolf Tibblin, on 22 GP wins in 2025, and I would imagine, that happens. Febvre not only deserves another World title, but he also deserves to end his career with a handful more GP wins.
My tips for 2025, Gajser to win his 50th GP, Febvre to win his 22nd and Coenen to actually win a GP on the 450. I cannot tip on who wins the MXGP or MX2 title, but I would imagine, if he stays in MX2, Kay De Wolf ads another five or six GP wins to the eight he already has. If he moves to MXGP, then I wouldn’t be surprised to see both he and Coenen standing on he box in the MXGP class.
