Adamo Wins At Home - Arco
Red Bull KTM factory rider, Andrea Adamo has repeated his victory at the Arco de Trento circuit in Italy a couple of years ago, with yet another victory on his picturesque old school track. The Italian went 3-2 for victory and kept his title chances alive.
Andrea Adamo: Of course, it was amazing, but the lappers were in the middle of the track. I knew I had enough and my race was good, but the last laps I struggled (with the lappers). I gave the fans what they deserve.
Second overall was Kay de Wolf with 2-4 and third Thibault Benistant with 12-1. Liam Everts has an unfortunate day with a 4-DNF result after crashing in the second moto and suffered bike damage. It meant a huge points swing for series leader and defending champion, de Wolf.
Championship points are now Kay de Wolf 231 points, Simon Längenfelder 219pts, Andrea Adamo 213pts, Liam Everts 203pts and Thibault Benistant 171pts.
MX2 Moto Two
Coenen led from Adamo, Benistant, Langenfelder, Oliver, McLellan, Valk, Prugnieres, de Wolf and Reisulis 10th. Everts crashed and out of the race with it seems a broken clutch lever, and maybe more damage to the bike. Zero points for Everts and a big points change in the championship. Coenen already a lead of 2.5 seconds and after a lap it was 3.3.
McLellan and de Wolf in a brilliant battle as they follow Langenfelder and Coenen makes the gap to Adamo 4.4 seconds. Coenen an unfortunate accident and he handed the lead to Adamo and the Belgian dropped to eight place. Top ten on lap four was Adamo, Benistant, Langenfelder, McLellan, de Wolf, Oliver, Valk, Coenen, Prugnieres and Zanchi now 10th.
McLellan also a crash and nearly collided with de Wolf and seemingly out of the running with an injury (he did return to the race, but well back). Lap six and the top ten was Adamo, Benistant, Langenfelder, de Wolf, Valk, Oliver, Coenen, Zanchi, Prugnieres and Lata 10th. Everyone seems to be helping de Wolf add major points to his championship lead today.
The lead by Adamo was 2.6 seconds over Benistant, with Langenfelder 6.6 back in third place. Then came de Wolf, Valk, Oliver, Coenen, Zanchi, Prugnieres and Lata. McLellan in 23rd place. Prugnieres and Lata a crash and dropping out of the top ten.
On lap 12 the lead was 4.1 seconds over Benistant and 9.8 ahead of Langenfelder in third. With time running out, the lead was 3.5 with Langenfelder and de Wolf still fighting for third place. Coenen was up to seventh place and McLellan 18th.
Benistant suddenly only 2.2 seconds behind Adamo and the Italian might be crumbling under the pressure as the Frenchman was all over him. The Italian crowd were going mental trying to motivate their countryman. Two laps remaining, but it looks like Adamo might have the win. In third and fourth it was a fight between Langenfelder and de Wolf.
All of a sudden the race wakes up. Benistant all over Adamo in the final lap, and made the pass on the final lap. Adamo still wins the GP and gains some points on series leader, de Wolf.
